Wayowayo Afrika is a cultural and African oriented music group; formed in 1999 in one of the biggest and poorest slums in Kenya.
Wayowayo is a Kiswahili word that means footprints; its a reflection of the social backdrop from which the members emanates.
Currently the group consists of 12 members of whom 3 are female performers, all from different tribes in Kenya.
The group is also an Edutainment group, as it concerns itself in educating the community through outreach organized in the slums and schools. This has enabled the group to establish rapport with the community and develop leadership among the youth.
Over the years, Wayowayo has continued to establish itself as a masterpiece; their evolving style is consistently defined as etiquette of value, admired and recognized by many as a collection of African heritage in Kenya and abroad.
